By downloading, installing, or using Stop Alert ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Stop Alert is a transit alert application designed to help users avoid missing their stops on public transport in the Netherlands. The App uses your device's location services to track your journey and alert you when approaching your destination.

3. Location Services

The App requires access to your device's location services to function. Location data is processed locally on your device and is only used during active tracking sessions. We do not store, transmit, or share your location data with third parties.

4. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for ensuring your device has sufficient battery and network connectivity.
• The App is intended as an aid and should not be your sole method of knowing when to disembark.
• Always remain aware of your surroundings and announcements on public transport.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this App.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
• Location tracking will be accurate in all conditions.
• Alerts will be delivered in all circumstances.
• Transit data will always be current or accurate.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to missed stops, delays, or any inconvenience caused by reliance on the App.

7. SOS Feature

The SOS feature is provided as a convenience to help you notify emergency contacts. This feature:

• Is not a substitute for emergency services (112).
• Requires SMS permissions and may incur carrier charges.
• Depends on network availability and device functionality.
• Should not be relied upon as your sole emergency communication method.

Note: Android devices may have additional SOS features (such as automatic real-time location updates) due to fewer platform security restrictions compared to iOS.

Privacy Policy

1. We Do Not Collect Your Data

Stop Alert does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. We have no servers, no analytics, and no tracking.

All data stays on your device:

• Location data is processed locally and never leaves your device.
• Your settings, contacts, and preferences are stored only on your device.
• We cannot access any of your information.

2. Data Processed Locally

The following data is used only on your device:

• Location: Used in real-time to track your journey and calculate distance to your stop. Never stored or transmitted.
• Emergency Contacts: Stored locally for SOS features. Only used to send SMS from your device.
• App Preferences: Your alarm sounds and settings are saved locally.

3. External Services

The app connects to external services only for transit data:

• OVapi (ovapi.nl): Downloads public transit schedules for the Netherlands. No personal data is sent.
• OpenStreetMap: Provides map tiles. No personal data is sent.

No advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs are used.

4. Your Control

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

• Uninstalling the app removes all data.
• Clearing app data in device settings removes all preferences.
• Revoking location permission stops all location access.
• We have no data to delete because we never had it.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users 13 years and older. Since we do not collect any data, there is no risk of collecting children's information.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update these terms and privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
